Elisa Shua Dusapin: The Old Fire
Elisa Shua Dusapin discusses her novel The Old Fire, about “two estranged sisters, a childhood home, and all that remains unspoken between them.” Dusapin, who was born in France to a South Korean mother and grew up between Paris, Seoul and Switzerland, writes in French; Winter in Sokcho, translated by Aneesa Abbas Higgins, won the 2021 National Book Award for Translated Literature. MIT and the French Library co-present.
