Spark! Inspired by Art and Artists
Three novelists imagine artists' lives. Emily Franklin's Love & Other Monsters follows Claire Clairmont through the summer of 1816 with Mary Godwin, Shelley and Byron, the season that produced Frankenstein. Priya Parmar's The Original portrays Katharine Hepburn in 1930s Hollywood. Lance Olsen's An Inventory of Benevolent Butterflies, paired with Andi Olsen's photo collages, imagines Henry Darger in 1973 Chicago. Whitney Scharer, author of The Age of Light, moderates.
