SCSB Lunch Series: Chaoyi Zhang on Volumetric Functional Ultrasound Imaging of the Social Brain
Chaoyi Zhang, a postdoctoral fellow in Guoping Feng's laboratory at MIT's McGovern Institute, presents a functional ultrasound platform for recording brain-wide activity in awake marmosets through an acoustically transparent skull implant. In the Simons Center for the Social Brain's lunch series, he reports that a live social partner drives stronger and wider activation than video of the same animal, and discusses applying the method to transgenic marmoset models of autism.
