Cartoonists Andy Hartzell and Matt Madden discuss the rules behind the comics form in Picture + Panel, the monthly graphic-novel conversation series. Madden, author of Ex Libris, is best known for 99 Ways to Tell a Story, a comics adaptation of Raymond Queneau’s Exercises in Style. Hartzell brings Monday; his first graphic novel, Fox Bunny Funny, was a New York Times holiday pick. Emmy Waldman (Filial Lines) moderates.
