Motherhood: An Artist Lecture by Suzanne Bocanegra, Starring Judah Lang
Thu Mar 18 / Fri Mar 19 · 8:00pm
Suzanne Bocanegra’s slide lecture, performed by the actor Judah Lang as the artist, combines memoir, cultural history and art-historical analysis to examine how society values, or undervalues, the creation, nurturing and education of children. Its subjects include foundling homes, feminism, mother-and-child paintings, party planning through the ages, Susan B. Anthony and nuns. It is the fifth of Bocanegra’s theatrical artist lectures; Claudia Zelevansky directs.
