Sudden Fear (1952)
In David Miller's 1952 noir, Joan Crawford plays a wealthy San Francisco playwright who marries an actor she once turned down for a part (Jack Palance), then learns from a recording machine that he and his lover (Gloria Grahame) mean to kill her. Lenore Coffee, born and raised in the city, co-wrote the screenplay. Shown on 35mm in the series Visions of a City, or A Weekend in San Francisco.
