Hindu View of Life Lecture: Special Dispensations, Sublime Realities: Keshab Chandra Sen and the Comparative Impulse in the Nineteenth Century
A century after Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan's lectures on the Hindu view of life, historian Neilesh Bose returns to the nineteenth-century Bengali reformer Keshab Chandra Sen, who compiled passages from many religions' scriptures and reached well beyond Hinduism. Bose presents Sen's comparative projects as a forerunner of Radhakrishnan's thinking about how religions borrow from one another as their peoples mix.
