Weina Dai Randel talks about the writing life in the age of AI: the myths that keep people from writing, letting the story lead, and persevering through writer's block and rejection. Randel has written six historical novels, including The Last Rose of Shanghai, optioned for a feature film; her latest, The Lost Kingdom of Daughters, set in a matriarchal society based on China's Moso people, is published November 1.
