ECOC Lecture: The Resplendent Quetzal

Peabody Essex Museum · Morse Auditorium · Peabody Essex Museum · Salem

Ornithologist Alan Poole, an associate of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, draws on his book Quetzals: Icons of the Cloud Forest to examine the Resplendent Quetzal of Central America's highland forests. He covers the bird's nesting and feeding habits, its role in Mayan and Aztec traditions, and the land-use pressures threatening its cloud-forest habitat.
