Nader Hashemi, director of the Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding and associate professor of Middle East and Islamic politics at Georgetown’s Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service, places the US-Iran war in historical perspective for the WCFIA/CMES Middle East Seminar. Hashemi wrote Islam, Secularism, and Liberal Democracy and co-edited, with Danny Postel, The People Reloaded, on Iran’s Green Movement, and Sectarianization.
