The British Have Come!
An all-British programme opens with the Symphony No. 4 of William Boyce, an 18th-century English composer, followed by Britten's Four Sea Interludes, the orchestral scenes of Dawn, Sunday Morning, Moonlight and Storm drawn from his opera Peter Grimes. It closes with Vaughan Williams's Symphony No. 5, premiered in 1943 in the middle of the Second World War. Tickets are pay-what-you-can, with a reception afterwards.
