Access to Books in the Context of Mass Incarceration
Kelly Brotzman, executive director of Prison Book Program, talks about how mass incarceration developed in the United States and what access to books looks like for the two million people behind bars, and about the origins of Art from Inside, the exhibition the library is showing through December. The program, founded in 1972, sends free books to people in prisons and jails across the country.
