SCSB Lunch Series: Tatsuya Osaki on the Blood-Brain Barrier in Autism
Tatsuya Osaki, a research scientist in Mriganka Sur's laboratory at MIT's Picower Institute for Learning and Memory, presents a human stem-cell-derived model of the blood-brain barrier built to study vascular contributions to autism. Starting from Rett syndrome, his work found that MeCP2 mutations impair endothelial function and barrier integrity, and that blocking the microRNA miR-126-3p restored it. The talk is also streamed on Zoom.
