Lie Groups Seminar: Guy Shtotland (Ben-Gurion University)
Guy Shtotland of Ben-Gurion University speaks on a relative version of the Kazhdan–Lusztig isomorphism for the spherical variety GL2n\Sp2n. The original isomorphism, linking the affine Hecke algebra of a p-adic group to the equivariant K-theory of the Steinberg variety of its Langlands dual, was central to proving the Deligne–Langlands conjecture. Shtotland compares two Hecke-algebra modules built from such a variety and applies the relationship to distinguished representations.
