A Knight’s Tale (2001), Brian Helgeland’s jousting comedy, stars Heath Ledger as William Thatcher, a peasant-born squire who poses as a nobleman to ride the tournament circuit and win a lady (Shannyn Sossamon), with Mark Addy, Alan Tudyk and Paul Bettany as Geoffrey Chaucer.
