Black Nativity
Langston Hughes's gospel song cycle retells the Nativity through the African American experience in gospel music, dance, African drumming and spoken word. This is the National Center of Afro-American Artists' 56th season of the piece, which it bills as the world's longest-running production; Desiree A. Springer directs, keeping the staging legacy of founder Elma Lewis and the music arrangements of John Andrew Ross.
