It's a Wonderful Life: Film Screening and Lecture
Frank Capra's It's a Wonderful Life (1946) stars James Stewart as George Bailey, who keeps putting Bedford Falls ahead of himself until his guardian angel, Clarence, shows him his worth. Before the film, a short lecture explains the building and loan: the community-owned associations that let ordinary people buy homes, kept the housing market afloat in the Depression and threatened men like Mr. Potter.
