Curtis Hanson's L.A. Confidential (1997) sets three 1950s Los Angeles cops, played by Guy Pearce, Russell Crowe and Kevin Spacey, on a mass murder at the Nite Owl cafe that opens onto blackmail, prostitution and a police cover-up; Kim Basinger co-stars. It screens on 35mm for Noirvember, with an optional package adding an introduction and post-film discussion led by Kay Lynch, founder of Salem Horror Fest.
