Eraserhead (1977)
Eraserhead (1977), David Lynch's first feature, stars Jack Nance as Henry Spencer, a pencil factory worker whose love story unfolds in a dystopian wasteland of mutant babies, a woman singing inside a radiator and dancing roast chickens. Influenced by Kafka and Gogol, it entered the National Film Registry in 2004; Kubrick screened it for the cast and crew of The Shining. It plays in the After Midnite series.
