Blood Wedding

by Federico García Lorca, translated by Langston Hughes

· ·

A bride stands at the threshold of a life already chosen for her, and longing has its own momentum. Old rivalries resurface, the celebration turns dark, and Lorca's tragedy unfolds like a poem set alight. Langston Hughes made this translation, which puts two poets on the same page.
