The Rake’s Progress
Stravinsky's 1951 opera follows Tom Rakewell from an inheritance through a London of brothels, an auction and a madhouse, with a libretto by W. H. Auden and Chester Kallman that took its shape from Hogarth's series of paintings. The score is deliberately eighteenth-century in manner. David Gately directs and Andrew Bisantz conducts.
