Somebody's Gotta Tell James
Cakeswagg's one-act play adapts Sonny's Blues, James Baldwin's 1957 story of a Harlem schoolteacher and his younger brother Sonny, a jazz pianist caught in heroin addiction, and carries it into the twenty-first century to try out alternate endings for Sonny's life. It is the second instalment of the third season of The Heart of Culture Series, presented free by Black History in Action Cambridgeport.
