David Reynolds: The White Lion and the Mayflower
David S. Reynolds discusses The White Lion and the Mayflower, his new book on the ships that brought the first enslaved Africans to Jamestown in 1619 and the Pilgrims to Plymouth in 1620, and on the Cavalier and Puritan ideologies that came with them. Reynolds, of the CUNY Graduate Center, won the Bancroft Prize for Walt Whitman's America. Ryan J. Woods, president of American Ancestors, interviews him.
