Tango Lecture - Ignacio Varchausky
Ignacio Varchausky, a double bassist who founded the Orquesta El Arranque and directs the Emilio Balcarce Tango School Orchestra, explores what makes a tango danceable, comparing different orchestras’ interpretations to show why some are considered more danceable than others. Varchausky has produced over 50 albums with tango artists including Leopoldo Federico, Horacio Salgán and Nelly Omar. Boston Conservatory’s Dance Department supports the free lecture.
