Cruising (1980)
William Friedkin's 1980 thriller Cruising stars Al Pacino as Steve Burns, a rookie New York cop sent undercover into the city's underground gay S&M scene to lure out a serial killer preying on its patrons, at the risk of losing his own identity. Taken from Gerald Walker's novel, with Paul Sorvino, Karen Allen and a punk-rock soundtrack, it was controversial on release. It plays in the After Midnite series.
