Middlesex County Sheriff's Office: Leading the Way in Modern Corrections
The Middlesex Sheriff's Office gives a presentation and conversation on its history and current work. Concord has been tied to the office since 1692, housing a county jail from 1789, and was the birthplace of John Shepard Keyes, the county's first elected sheriff. Under Sheriff Peter J. Koutoujian, the office's newest initiative is the first-in-the-nation Older Adult Re-Entry Unit, designed with partners including Boston University.
