Amra Brooks: Mother Is a Place (Stonehill Scholar Series)
Amra Brooks, a Stonehill professor, discusses her memoir Mother Is a Place, which traces “one girl’s dogged search for safety and care” from “idyllic literary studies to nannying an iconic, out-of-control rock star,” through a mysteriously collapsing body, to “the defiant tenderness of motherhood.” The talk is part of Stonehill’s 2026 Scholar Series, with refreshments from the Office of Academic Affairs.
