The Eleventh Year (1928)
The Eleventh Year (1928), Dziga Vertov's silent documentary, traces Soviet Ukraine's progress ten years after the Revolution, celebrating its workers, new technology, natural resources and army; it was his last film before Man with a Movie Camera. The Psychedelic Cinema Orchestra, a four-piece led by Ken Winokur, formerly of the Alloy Orchestra, premieres its new live score, and a large share of the proceeds goes to Ukrainian humanitarian relief.
