Boston Conservatory Orchestra: The Great Swiftness
The Conservatory orchestra comes to Symphony Hall with a triple concerto by the American composer James Stephenson written for three of the school's brass faculty, and a suite drawn from Holst's The Planets, whose movements take their characters from astrology rather than astronomy. Playing the Stephenson puts the teaching staff in front of their own students.
