The Lion in Winter (1968)
Anthony Harvey's The Lion in Winter (1968), from James Goldman's play, finds Henry II (Peter O'Toole) and Eleanor of Aquitaine (Katharine Hepburn) feuding over the succession as their sons Richard (Anthony Hopkins), John and Geoffrey vie for the crown and Philip of France (Timothy Dalton) exploits the rift. It won three Oscars, for Hepburn, Goldman's screenplay and John Barry's score, and screens in the Big Screen Classics series.
