Book Release Event: They Fought Back (David Chanoff & Paula S. Apsell)
David Chanoff and Paula S. Apsell, both Brandeis University professors, launch They Fought Back: Jewish Resistence During the Holocaust, which traces the resistance in phases, from the cultural and spiritual resistance of Europe’s ghettoized Jews to armed resistance “in ghettos, forests, and death camps,” and asks how individuals and communities respond when facing the certainty of death. The ticket reserves a seat and counts toward a copy of the book.
