Parables from Matthew's gospel staged as a troupe of clowns playing games, with Stephen Schwartz's early-seventies score carrying most of the feeling. John-Michael Tebelak devised it as a graduate thesis before Schwartz wrote the songs, one of which, Day by Day, became a hit single.
