The Hula-Hoopin' Queen
A stage version of Thelma Lynne Godin's picture book, set on a Harlem block: ten-year-old Kameeka is fixed on winning the neighbourhood hula-hooping contest, and the day keeps handing her reasons to look after other people first. Wheelock Family Theatre closes its season with it, playing to school groups as well as public audiences.
