Mahler: Symphony #2 in C Minor
Chorus pro Musica and the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, in what the chorus describes as the orchestra's final season, perform Mahler's Second Symphony, the “Resurrection,” with vocal soloists, organ and offstage brass. Written across nearly a decade and lasting almost 90 minutes, it moves from a funeral march to a choral finale on death, faith and eternal life. Jamie Kirsch is the chorus's music director.
