Sholay (1975)
Ramesh Sippy's 1975 Sholay, written by Salim–Javid, stars Sanjeev Kumar as a retired policeman who, seeking revenge on the dacoit leader Gabbar Singh (Amjad Khan), enlists two crooks he once jailed (Amitabh Bachchan and Dharmendra). The “Curry Western” screens in Film Heritage Foundation's 4K director's-cut restoration, which reinstates the original ending cut by India's censor board, two deleted scenes and the 70mm aspect ratio. In Hindi with English subtitles.
