Inheritance: A Litany
Janis Brenner created and performs this 51-minute autobiographical solo, a dance-opera-play and comic drama about the ways she “became” her late parents, inheriting her father’s wavy hair and sarcasm and her mother’s singing voice and fragile bones. It won Best Production at the 2018 United Solo Theatre Festival. Brenner, who directs Janis Brenner & Dancers, won a Bessie performing in Meredith Monk’s The Politics of Quiet.
