Anna Hogeland with Grace Talusan: Wild Aster
Anna Hogeland discusses her novel Wild Aster, about Mae Smith, who is kidnapped from her adoptive parents by her biological mother, grows up on the run, and spends the next half century, through the Depression and the Second World War, reinventing herself. Hogeland is also the author of The Long Answer. Grace Talusan, whose The Body Papers won the Massachusetts Book Award in Nonfiction, joins her in conversation.
