The Heavenly Life
Mahler’s Symphony No. 4, which “explores the journey from earthly life to ‘heavenly’ bliss,” ends with Das himmlische Leben, a song of a child’s vision of paradise, sung here by soprano Sara Heaton. Heaton, a member of the Metropolitan Opera Chorus, made her Met solo debut in its 2018 Cendrillon and has sung with Boston Baroque, Odyssey Opera and Boston Modern Orchestra Project.
