Barbed Wire
Barbed Wire, a new play by Japanese American playwright Rosanna Yamagiwa Alfaro and African American playwright Mary E. McCullough, follows Sam, a young Japanese American held in a World War II internment camp, and his friendship with Johnny, a Black soldier stationed there, from internment into his early college years. Drawn from Alfaro's family experience, it is the Center's annual MLK weekend production and its first full staging.
