Millennium Rift (Special Work in Progress Showing)
A work-in-progress showing of William Brittelle's multimedia song cycle for the vocal ensemble Roomful of Teeth, joined by Metropolis Ensemble, expanding on their Grammy-winning album Rough Magic. Scored for studio-style vocals, saxophone, vintage synths and 1980s drum fills, it tells of mailer_daemon, a fictional composer who retreats to the Mojave Desert convinced that Y2K will end the world.
