Coward (2026)
Coward (2026), Lukas Dhont's third feature after Girl and Close, follows newly enlisted Belgian soldiers in 1916, among them Pierre, a quiet farmboy, and Francis, a tailor's son who leads the troops' makeshift revues; the two fall in love in the trenches. Emmanuel Macchia and Valentin Campagne shared Best Actor at Cannes, and it is Belgium's Oscar submission. In French with English subtitles, in IFFBoston's Fall Focus.
