Who Gets to Tell the Story?

Three novelists drawing on real histories discuss art, agency and ownership. Brinda Charry’s Hocus Pocus makes an Indian stage magician the first live exhibit of an 1816 Boston museum; Bo Wang’s The Chinese Lady imagines the first Chinese woman brought to the U.S.; and Natalie Lemle’s Artifacts follows an attorney reconstructing an archaeology dig. Dawn Tripp hosts, after an introduction by 826 Boston poet Timothy Robinson.
