Women on Trial (2026)
Women on Trial (2026), directed by Lauriane Escaffre and Yvo Muller, dramatises the 1972 French trial in which 16-year-old Marie-Claire was prosecuted for an illegal abortion with her mother and two others. Charlotte Gainsbourg plays Gisèle Halimi, the Jewish lawyer who defended them. A Boston Jewish Film Festival spotlight screening in French, followed by a talk with historians Kelly Colvin (UMass Boston) and Julian Bourg (Boston College).
