Boston Symphony Chamber Players: Tchaikovsky's Souvenir of Florence
The Boston Symphony Chamber Players, an ensemble of the orchestra's principal musicians, play Tchaikovsky's Souvenir of Florence, the string sextet he wrote in 1890 after a stay in Florence spent composing his opera The Queen of Spades. Liadov's Eight Russian Folk Songs, heard in a version for wind quintet, and Sofia Gubaidulina's Garden of Joy and Sorrow, for flute, viola and harp, complete the programme.
Series of 4 Sunday afternoons: $120-$204
