Alien (1979)
Ridley Scott's Alien (1979), shown in its 2003 director's cut, follows the crew of the Nostromo as they answer a distress signal and take aboard a creature that hunts them down. Sigourney Weaver plays Ripley, with Tom Skerritt, John Hurt, Harry Dean Stanton and Yaphet Kotto; H.R. Giger designed the alien. Beforehand, Lesley University filmmaking professor Ingrid Stobbe leads a separately ticketed seminar on Ripley as a Final Girl.
