Christmas in Connecticut (1945)
In Peter Godfrey's 1945 comedy Christmas in Connecticut, Barbara Stanwyck plays Elizabeth Lane, a famous writer on marriage and homemaking whose publisher (Sydney Greenstreet) asks her to host a war hero (Dennis Morgan) for Christmas dinner at her celebrated Connecticut home. She must scramble to hide that she is single, cannot cook and owns no home at all. It screens on 35mm in the Big Screen Classics series.
