Dylan Cant of the Université de Montréal speaks on "the spectral diameter of the Grassmannians", a pseudometric built from Floer theory. He shows the diameter is finite for Gr(2, n) when n is prime, a consequence of quantum cohomology, and infinite for Gr(2k, 2n) when k < n, through Lagrangian submanifolds. The work is joint with Habib Alizadeh, Marcelo Atallah and Jianqiao Shang.
