Faculty Recital: Dan VanHassel Featuring SPLICE Ensemble
Dan VanHassel, assistant professor of composition at the Conservatory, presents Dystopia, his piece for trumpet, drum set, piano and electronics, with SPLICE Ensemble. The trio, Sam Wells on trumpet, Keith Kirchoff on piano and Adam Vidiksis on percussion, plays electroacoustic chamber music, has premiered more than 120 works by over 100 composers, and teaches at the SPLICE Institute and Festival. Jazz Weekly called it a "sonic foodfight."
