London Symphony Orchestra
The London Symphony Orchestra makes its first Symphony Hall appearance since 2009, under its chief conductor Sir Antonio Pappano. Maxim Vengerov is the soloist in Beethoven's Violin Concerto, Op. 61, and Strauss's Ein Heldenleben, a tone poem with a substantial solo-violin part of its own, closes the programme.
