Brahms, Beethoven & Stravinsky
Brahms's Tragic Overture opens, then Beethoven's Triple Concerto with Alex Kerr, violin, Emmanuel Feldman, cello, and the pianist Joy Cline Phinney — a work that asks three soloists to share the foreground. Stravinsky's Petrushka closes. Francisco Noya conducts the orchestra, which was founded in 1924.
